Marine Cpl Christopher Poole, Jr, of Mount Dora, Florida was bid a final farewell on Friday the 14th of September 2007 on the grounds of one of Florida's National Cemeteries in Bushnell, Florida. It was a bright and beautiful Florida day, not unlike many this young man must have enjoyed as a young boy in this part of the state. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death. He died in active combat operations on foreign soil in defense of his country, and in the defense of his family and friends, who gathered on this day to say their final goodbyes. It was obvious from the large group of friends who attended, that Christopher Poole, Jr was a well loved young man. A purple heart was awarded to Christopher posthumously. When the flag presentation was concluded, the twenty-one gun salute had been rendered, and Taps had sounded, Christopher's coffin was placed again in the hearse.. The attending Marines and the family walked behind the slow moving hearse to the burial site. We wish Christopher God Speed and his family the healing of wonderful memories with a fine young man.
